Olympic Art Mini-Camp: Day 1

The smiles on their faces show how much fun we had at our first day of Olympic Sports Art Camp this morning!

Our Olympic Art projects this morning included soccer mosaic art taught by Julia.  Students learned watercoloring techniques along with how to design a mosaic masterpiece.

Each mosaic was unique as kids got to try different designs they liked for their piece.

We're teachers... so, we cannot resist a good read aloud to go along with the art.  Today our art students learned a little about the Olympics from this book.  We learned about how often the Olympics are held, summer and winter sports, the Olympic torch, and, of course, about the Olympic rings.

Afterward, we completed some 3-D art.... an Olympic Ring mobile!  We learned that the 5 rings represent the regions participating in the games and that the rings overlap to show coming together in unity.

What a great first day of camp!  And, guess what?  It's not too late to enroll your student.  There are 2 days left of this camp to enjoy and learn.  Contact us today to get your kids signed up!
